Music Monday – G-Dragon and Taeyang, AKMU

As I started off 2014 with Big Bang, I decided to finish the year off with more Korean music. G-Dragon and Taeyang of Big Bang recently released their single “Good Boy” and I personally find it catchy along with the dance. At first I didn’t like it, but it definitely grew on me. Poor D has to listen to it every time I play this song.

Taeyang’s “Ears, Nose, Lips” song was popular and YG had different artist cover that song. I really liked AKMU’s cover of this song. I’ll share with you Taeyang’s original version and then AKMU’s.

Enjoy the Korean music.

Music Monday – Christmas Songs – Part 3

Sorry this post is a bit late, but better late than never. This week I’ll share a few random Christmas songs that I enjoy listening to.

In previous years, while decorating the Christmas tree at my parent’s house, we always listened to Backstreet Boy songs. It’s even better now that they have a really catchy Christmas song “It’s Christmas Time Again”. I can replay this song over and over.

My friend introduced me to this youtube channel “Watch Mojo” where they have top 10 lists for different categories. I’ll share 2 lists with you today.

Music Monday – Christmas Songs – Part 2

We are 10 days away from Christmas. Time to celebrate and pump up the Christmas music. This week I am going to share some songs from Pentatonix. Many of their Christmas song are being shared on my friends’ Facebook pages. Pentatonix is an a cappella group consisting of 5 individuals. I first heard them on the show “Sing-Off”. It is so awesome to hear and see what an a cappella group can do with their voices. They have just recently released their Christmas album called “That’s Christmas to Me”. Here are a few of my favourite tracks.

Pentatonix – Mary, Did You Know?

Pentatonix – That’s Christmas to Me

Pentatonix – Little Drummer Boy

Music Monday – Christmas Music Part 1.

As we are now into December and Christmas is fast approaching, I thought it would be only appropriate to share some Christmas Music. This week I will share with you one of my favourite Christmas Albums, Starfield’s Song for Christmas Vol 1. I love all 5 tracks on this album. I like to turn off the lights and only have my Christmas tree lights on or my snowflake lights on and listen to these Christmas songs.

Starfield – Oh Holy Night

Starfield – O Come O Come Emmanuel

If you get a chance, take a listen to their whole album.

Music Monday – Hillsong Worship

As I have been away for so long, it has taken me some time to get back on to my Music Monday schedule. But have no fear, I am back though a day late. hehe. I should back to regular Mondays after this week.

This week I want to share some worship songs I have been listening/singing to a lot.

Hillsong – Broken Vessels

We sang this song about month or so ago in church and the lyrics really spoke to me. I also love the melody of this song. It is so calming and I love having this song on during my devos or even right now as I am writing this blog, staring out my window, admiring the moon God has presented tonight.  D really likes how “Amazing Grace” is incorporated into this song and sung a bit differently.

Hillsong – With Everything

The lyrics are so powerful. I really like verse 2 and the chorus. I want to worship God with everything. I find myself always so caught up in this earthly world, I like how it says in verse 2, I need to break down the walls I’ve built-in me. I need to lay down my own desires at God’s feet and take on God’s desires for me. I need to be open and willing to surrender to God, not just part of me but with everything I have and I am. I want to shout for God’s glory. I want to shine for Him.

“Break down our pride
And all the walls we’ve built up inside
Our earthly crowns and all our desires
We lay at Your feet”

“With everything,
With everything,
We will shout for Your glory.

With everything,
With everything,
We will shout forth Your praise.”
