August 2014 – Toronto Part 1

Headed to Toronto once again for my good friend L and T’s wedding. D and I took a flight with our good friend S and her baby girl A. A did so well on the flight. We were so happy we could travel with S and A. In Toronto, we rented out a town house with 9 of our friends. It was awesome planning on my friends’ part as we were able to get clean, comfortable accommodations. Since none of us rented a car, we did do a lot of taxiing. We arrived Thursday night and settled in. Friday morning/afternoon, we wandered around The Distillery District and had lunch there. We went back home after to get ready for L’s wedding in the evening.

Music Monday – Wedding Music Selections

I want to share some of our music we had from our wedding. For our wedding ceremony, we had our worship team sing 4 songs for us.

D, the moms and the bridal party walked down the aisle to One Republic’s “All This Time” which our worship team learned in less than a week.

I walked down the aisle to City Harmonic’s “Holy (Wedding Day)”  which our team sang wonderfully.

We had 2 worship songs we sang as a whole congregation led by our awesome team once again.

Phil Wickham’s “This is Amazing Grace”

Tim Neufeld’s  “Praise Him

During our signing of our vows, we played Switchfoot’s “Love is a Song”

Our recessional song D and I and our bridal party walked out to was One Republic’s “Marchin On”

For our first dance, we danced to Jason Mraz’s ” I Won’t Give Up”

It did take us a while to pick some of the songs. Some were easy as they are favourites of mine and D’s. We are so grateful for our worship team and all their help. They did an amazing job and we were so happy.

June Happenings in Pictures (Part 1)

Not much time to post lately as I have been picking up as many work shifts as I can, so July I can scale back and stick with wedding planning. D and I have been running a lot of errands lately, trying to pick up little things here and there for whatever we need for the wedding. With going out, means eating out lots too. hehe. Something we have to scale back as well once married and can cook in our very own kitchen. hehe. Here are some June happenings of what we have been up to and what we have been eating.

Running Season has started. Here I am running with our coach, P. Sadly, due to our busy schedule, we haven’t gone running much this year.

Stopped by Boston Pizza the other night for dinner after we checked on our house. I am so indecisive when it comes to picking food. hehe so D takes pictures of me while he is waiting for me to decide.

For desert, we go the Panookie. A pan baked cookie with ice cream on top. This was introduced to me by my brother and his fiance. So yummy.

Went to Red Lobsters for lunch. Always a great way to start your meal with fresh, warm scones.

Due to all the eating out, I wanted a lighter lunch, so I went with the clam chowder and grilled shrimp caeser salad. The shrimp was grilled and seasoned so well. The soup was so tasty.

50 Days

It is so crazy. We are 50 days away from the wedding. hehe. let the countdown begin. Still quite a bit to do, but we are very blessed with lots of family and friends who are willing to help make this day special =D Continuing to plan and prepare with Christ in mind. We are halfway through our per-marital classes and having been learning a lot about each other and how to build a stronger relationship. I guess as the days draw closer, there may be more updates. Definitely will post more about wedding stuff after the wedding. hehe. All underwraps right now.

2013 Year in Review – Part 2

In July, D and I participated in the Canada Day Road Race where we did a 5KM run. It was intense as the run does end with a hill, but we plowed through with the help of a people cheering all of us on. Thank you to our coach for training us.

Also in July, we went on a fishing/camping trip with some of our friends from church. Being outside the city, it is always such a wonderful reminder of God’s beautiful creation. It was my first time fishing, which was so much fun as I was able to catch a fish however it was too small so we set it free again. It is always fun to sit around the fire and chatting with friends. We also got to celebrated my best friend’s A&T’s wedding. It was so much fun to be able to celebrate with them through this joyous occasion. Definitely a whole weekend of festivities. Congratulations A&T!!

In September, my Dad and I took on the project of painting my room. Growing up, I had always wanted a blue room, but years and years of talk and nothing was ever done. So this year, I had about 2 weeks off of work, but my Mom suggested we paint my room. With my Dad’s help, we made it happen. It was a big project for us as none of us are handy people. But with some research and youtube videos, we got it done. Thanks Mom and Dad!! Hard to see with the pictures as it is a light shade of blue.

The last few months, we have been busy with work, church commitments, wedding planning and looking at houses. I tried a few different restaurants in Edmonton, which will be in a later post. Spent time with our family and friends for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Definitely a blessed year. Thank you God for all that you have blessed me and my family and friends this year.

Happy New Year everyone!!
