The past 2 weeks, I have been listening to Akdong Musician (AKMU) nonstop. I found their music from another blogger and started first by watching their Melted video and was intrigued. I really liked the song and then looked them up on youtube and now I haven’t stopped listening. It turns out they were on Kpop Star 2 (a Korean TV audition show to find the next Kpop Star) and won. After winning the show they signed with YG and are part of the YG family along with Big Bang, 2NE1 and Epik High. How awesome is that.
So AKMU is a brother and sister duo. Their album was just released in April and already has over 3 million downloads according to Wikipedia. They promoted their album with 3 music videos. To decide which songs to be made into videos, YG picked one song, AKMU picked one song and the third song was chosen by the fans according to which song was most popular.
AKMU chose Melted.
