Switchfoot – Fading West

I have finally been able to watch Switchfoot’s Film “Fading West” courtesy of Netflix. I have been waiting and wanting to see this film since it came out. (see previous Music Monday) It was an awesome film; so inspiring to see what they have experienced through their family life, travels, surfing and music. It makes me excited as I’ll be taking a surfing class 2 weeks from now. Super pumped now. haha. I loved seeing where they got their inspirations for their music. One of my favourite parts was when they were the the Kuyasa Kids choir in South Africa. Just seeing them partner up with these kids in previous years and now to come and visit them again was so touching. It also helps they sing my favourite song together. hehe.

If you get a chance, I highly recommend this film =D Here is a recent music video for Switchfoot’s “When We Come Alive”.

Music Monday – Wedding Music Selections

I want to share some of our music we had from our wedding. For our wedding ceremony, we had our worship team sing 4 songs for us.

D, the moms and the bridal party walked down the aisle to One Republic’s “All This Time” which our worship team learned in less than a week.

I walked down the aisle to City Harmonic’s “Holy (Wedding Day)”  which our team sang wonderfully.

We had 2 worship songs we sang as a whole congregation led by our awesome team once again.

Phil Wickham’s “This is Amazing Grace”

Tim Neufeld’s  “Praise Him

During our signing of our vows, we played Switchfoot’s “Love is a Song”

Our recessional song D and I and our bridal party walked out to was One Republic’s “Marchin On”

For our first dance, we danced to Jason Mraz’s ” I Won’t Give Up”

It did take us a while to pick some of the songs. Some were easy as they are favourites of mine and D’s. We are so grateful for our worship team and all their help. They did an amazing job and we were so happy.

Music Monday — Switchfoot Part 2.

With their new CD , Fading West, being released last week, I figured I blog about it while it’s still new. This new CD goes along with their Fading West Film that they have been promoting. This film follows the band around looking for musical inspiration and the perfect surfing locations around the world. I am interested and hoping I will be able to watch this film one day.
Here is the trailer to their film.

Back to their new CD,  they have posted their new songs on their youtube page which I have been listening to non-stop. Hehe, I know it’s a pretty good CD when I have found a few songs I like. Some of my favourites have been: When We Come Alive, Who We Are, The World We Want, Let it Out and Love Alone is Worth the Fight. I will most likely buy the CD the next time I am at Blessings.

Here are the first two videos they have for their songs Love Alone is Worth the Fight and Who We Are.

Music Monday — Switchfoot

Welcome to another week of Music Monday. This week I’ll share with you another favourite band of mine, Switchfoot. It was really cool, back in high school, a few of my friends and I were able to attend their concert back when Eds was Reds. hehe. It was such an awesome, small intimate show where what I remember most is standing up by the stage and singing along with the band. Here are 2 of their older songs but still classics for me.

How fitting I post today about Switchfoot as their new album, Fading West, is being released tomorrow. I cannot wait to hear their full length album. From the preview songs, it sounds pretty good. Check them out at www.switchfoot.com.

Have a good start to your week!
